After the Match of VFL Bochum against Fortuna Dusseldorf, I stayed the night in Bochum. On Saturday, the small club Wattenscheid plays on their beautiful ground. The Lohrheide is a nice old school stadium. Also, the club and its stadium have a strange history.
In 1994 they relegated out of the Bundesliga. In 2010, nearly 16 years later, the club relegated to the 'Verbandsliga'. That is the sixth (!!!) tier of German football.
Luckily the club found its way up. In this season the club has a good year in the Regionalliga West, German fourth tier.
The stadium can hold 16.000 people. Today there were only 650.
These old man has experienced 5 relegations in just 15 years. The club has particulary older fans.
But, also at Wattenscheid, fathers take their sons to the stadium. From Father To Son!
Pay attention, the photoalbum has 2 pages!:)
